On June 11, the New York Irish Center in Long Island City will host a screening of “Who We Love,” a tender, coming-of-age dramedy by Graham Cantwell. On June 9, the usual Drink and Draw life-drawing class at the Brooklyn Museum will get a drag makeover!īetween June 10 and 12, ChamberQueer, an organization that highlights historically underrepresented LGBTQ+ figures in classical music, will present two shows at National Sawdust in Brooklyn. On June 8, the historian George Chauncey, who teaches American history at Columbia University, will present a talk called “Gay New York: 1930-1970” at the New York Historical Society.

On June 5, Joe’s Pub will celebrate Judy Garland’s 100th birthday with the 10th annual “Night of a Thousand Judys.” There are many other Pride events throughout the city this month:īetween June 2 and 6, NewFest Pride will kick off the month with brand new feature films and television series, filmmaker Q&As, and social events. Other events include PrideFest, a street fair in Greenwich Village, and Pride Island, a two-day music festival on Governors Island, headlined by the rapper Lil’ Kim and the pop star Kim Petras. This year’s grand marshals include the social media star TS Madison and Chase Strangio, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union.

ABC 7 will broadcast from the march route with live interviews and performances. In 2022, NYC’s Pride March will return to a fully in-person lineup for the first time since the pandemic started.
